What Pencilled is
Pencilled provides booking software for session-based events. Operators — the independent businesses running saunas, swims, tours, tastings and other experiences — publish their events through Pencilled and take bookings from their customers. Pencilled is the platform, not the event: we don't run sessions, and each booking is a contract between you and the operator.
Operators
Operators are responsible for their events: safety, insurance, accurate listings, honouring bookings, and complying with the law that applies to what they run. Operators take card payments through their own Stripe account via Stripe Connect; Pencilled deducts a platform fee from each payment, which is the charge for using the platform.
Bookings
- Placing a booking and paying constitutes an agreement with the operator for that session.
- Tickets are personal to the booking and non-transferable, unless the operator says otherwise — if you can't make it, contact the operator.
- Spots are held for 15 minutes during checkout and released automatically if payment isn't completed.
Refunds and cancellations
Refunds and cancellations follow the operator's own policy — check the event listing or ask the operator before booking. When a refund is agreed, it's processed through the platform back to your original payment method. If an operator cancels a session, they are responsible for refunding or rebooking you. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Pencilled to break the law, or to list events that are misleading or unsafe.
- Don't attempt to breach, probe or overload the platform, or access data that isn't yours.
- Don't make bookings you have no intention of honouring.
We may suspend accounts or listings that breach these terms.
Liability
Pencilled provides the platform "as is" and works hard to keep it available, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with the platform is limited to the fees paid to Pencilled for the booking concerned. We are not liable for the events themselves — that responsibility sits with the operator. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — though if you're a consumer you keep any protections of the law where you live.
